From the gardens of Castel Gandolfo, Pope Leo XIV celebrated his first Mass for the Care of Creation. Faced with the "catastrophes caused by human excesses," the Pope delivered a direct plea for an urgent ecological conversion. Late in the morning, he also met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

Shortly before 9 a.m. on Wednesday, July 9, Pope Leo XIV walked along the cobbled paths of the "Borgo Laudato si'," in the heart of the gardens of Castel Gandolfo, where he arrived this weekend for a two-week rest. Created in 2023, this site was designed by Pope Francis to promote integral ecology, in the spirit of his 2015 encyclical, Laudato si' .
