Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7: The company unveils a new, never-before-seen foldable phone

Samsung surprises its community by unveiling not one, but two models of foldable clamshell smartphones.

Samsung's Galaxy Unpacked conference allowed the company to unveil several new products for this summer. These include the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7, the company's new foldable smartphone, which is taking the opportunity to get a makeover. A new external display, a new processor, and a more refined design... the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 boasts several new features, but also a completely new little brother: the Galaxy Z Flip 7 ZE, which is presented as a less expensive alternative.

Thus, the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 finally has an external screen that covers its entire front face and goes from 3.4 inches (on the Z Flip 6) to 4.1 inches. A long-awaited progression, especially since the arrival of serious competitors like Xiaomi or Motorola, which have been offering this type of screen for several years. This screen will have an AMOLED display and a brightness of up to 2600 nits.

Samsung's foldable smartphone also slims down, dropping to 13.7mm when closed and 6.5mm when open. Its weight has also been reduced somewhat, with figures estimated at 188g.

In terms of photography, the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 uses the same 50MP main sensor as the S25 and S25 Edge. The secondary sensor will allow for 2x optical and 10x digital zoom, while the selfie camera increases to 10MP.

For power, Snapdragon chips are out. The Galaxy Z Flip 7 features an Exynos 2500 processor and 12GB of RAM to support your games and apps. The battery, meanwhile, is listed at 4,300mAh, with wired charging limited to 25W and 10W wireless charging.

The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE: there are two of them now!

Alongside the new Galaxy Z Flip 7, Samsung also announced the upcoming release of a brand new foldable phone: the Z Flip 7 FE. The latter shares many of the features of the Z Flip 6, but still features some small improvements.

In terms of design, the Z Flip 7 FE has everything from the previous generation with a 6.7-inch size when unfolded and a 3.4-inch screen externally. These dimensions are the same as for the Galaxy Z Flip 6 released in 2024.

Where the Z Flip 7 FE differs from its predecessor is in power: the foldable phone comes with an Exynos 2400 processor and 8GB of RAM.

Regarding battery life, nothing has changed: the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE has a 4000 mAh battery and charging is limited to 25 W wired (10 W wireless).

What are the prices and release dates?

Good news: all of these new Samsung models will be available at once. Pre-orders open Wednesday, July 9th, with a launch scheduled for July 25th. Prices are as follows:
