After OM-Rennes, Leonardo Balerdi gives his armband to Steve Mandanda, who receives a standing ovation from the Stade Vélodrome

Steve Mandanda may have been wearing the Stade Rennais jersey this Saturday evening, but he remains a legend of Olympique de Marseille who was warmly celebrated during the Phocéens' victory at the Stade Vélodrome (4-2).

The most capped player in OM's history (613 matches between 2007 and 2016 and then between 2017 and 2022), the 40-year-old goalkeeper, who came onto the pitch in the 94th minute for a final lap of honour, was even symbolically handed the captain's armband by his former teammate Leonardo Balerdi after the match, to the cheers of the Virage Sud.

The French international (35 caps), who is due to leave Rennes at the end of the season, has not yet commented on his future, and his contract expires on June 30.
