AS Monaco formalizes the arrival of Paul Pogba in the Principality

After two days of medical examinations, Paul Pogba officially became an AS Monaco player this Saturday at the end of the day.

The 2018 world champion, 32, has signed a two-year contract, until June 2027, with the ambition of relaunching his career. With his last match for Juventus on September 3, 2023, the international midfielder (91 caps) will try to rediscover the joy and the game.

In an ideal world, he would also like to return to the French national team with a view to the 2026 World Cup. He has not worn his jersey since March 2022, between injuries, an eighteen-month suspension for doping and an attempted extortion he suffered from childhood friends and his brother Mathias.

In a short video announcing its arrival, "La Pioche" evokes "a rebirth".

He will resume training on Wednesday.

Pogba is expected to train alongside the internationals on Wednesday. He will wear the number 8 shirt.

The Monegasques will play their first friendly match against Cercle Bruges on Friday, July 11 at 11 a.m., at the La Turbie Performance Center. They will then travel to England for training from July 13 to 19.

Depending on his fitness, Pogba could play his first official match with the Principality club on the first day of Ligue 1, the weekend of August 15.
