AS Monaco has given reassuring news about its young player Samuel Nibombé, who suffered a heart attack on Thursday evening during a match.

The Stade Rennais and AS Monaco youth teams played in the Espoirs Challenge final on Thursday evening at Roazhon Park in Rennes. Just minutes before the end of the match, with Monaco leading 2-1, their teammate Samuel Nibombé collapsed on the pitch, and the match was definitively abandoned.
The 17-year-old Belgian, who collapsed and was revived on the pitch, was treated by medical staff from both clubs and regained consciousness. The defender was taken to hospital conscious, where he spent the night.
This Friday morning, the news concerning him "is positive" according to the latest information transmitted by his club. He "is doing well" and "his condition is stable" .
In its post on X (formerly Twitter), the Principality club also "warmly thanked the FFF and Stade Rennais for the quality of the welcome, the organization of the match, as well as the exemplary collaboration between the staff of the two clubs."
