Basketball - Men's National 2. Jonathan Colas is the new coach of US Avignon-Le Pontet

Union Sportive Avignon-Le Pontet Basket, a member of the men's National 2 league, didn't have to look far for its new coach. Presidents Capo and Chêne placed their trust in Jonathan Colas, a man who knows the Vaucluse club inside and out.

The latter coached the U17s of Chalon-sur-Saône, the “France” boys’ minimes of Asvel in 2005-2006, Bron in National 2 and Avignon-Le Pontet in National 3 from 2016 to 2018, La Barbière and Montélimar.

He was an assistant last season

Also assistant coach of Sorgues Avignon-Le Pontet Vaucluse and Usap (alongside Sylvain Lauthier and François Sence), Jonathan Colas was Joachim Duthé's assistant at Usap last season for an experience that turned into a "watermelon".

The assistant coach had decided to end his collaboration with a coach whose playing philosophy didn't match his own approach to basketball. The name of his assistant is expected to be announced within a few days.
