When it comes to partying and entertaining, Montmartre has always known how to do it. Long before the Olympic cycling event in August 2024, and before the Tour de France passes through this Sunday, its legendary Rue Lepic (18th arrondissement) hosted a number of races of all kinds in the first half of the 20th century.
"With its slope and its layout, it's the perfect route to organize them," smiles Isabelle Conte, director of the Société du Vieux Montmartre, whose premises are full of archives dedicated to this legendary district of Paris .
