No, Imane Khelif is not retired. While her former manager, Nasser Yesfah, assured Nice-Matin that the Olympic champion in Paris was "no longer boxing," she denied this on Wednesday. "Currently, she has stopped everything . She hasn't even started again, she's not boxing anymore," he assured, justifying this decision by the controversy surrounding her gender that had deeply hurt her last summer.

On her Facebook page, however, the Algerian assured that this was not true. "I would like to clarify to the public that the reports of my retirement from boxing are false , " she wrote, believing that her former manager had "betrayed her trust and her country with his false and malicious statements."

"I never announced my retirement from boxing, I remain committed to my sporting career, I train regularly and I maintain my physical condition between Algeria and Qatar in view of the next events," continued Imane Khelif , very upset. However, she seems to have indeed left Nice, she who was training at Nice Azur Boxe.
