Brex, Mercer, Tuifua, RCT formalizes seven recruits and three extensions

It's now official: there will be seven new players joining the Toulon squad for the 2025-2026 season. This Monday at noon sharp, the RCT announced on its social media the details of its recruitment for the upcoming season. Among the seven names made official are internationals, established Top 14 players, and prospects that French clubs have been fighting over and who have ended up settling in Toulon... but no real surprises, since all the names were known, or even already made official by Bernard Lemaitre in our columns.

In no particular order, here are the names of the new Toulonnais:

- Nikoloz Narmania ( right pillar, Biarritz, 24 years old, 1 selection with Russia, until 2026)

- Zach Mercer (number 8, Gloucester, 28 years old, 2 caps for England, until 2028)

- Patrick Tuifua (third row, Hawke's Bay, 20 years old, until 2028)

- Clovis Le Bail (scrum-half, Racing 92, 29 years old, until 2028)

- Matéo Garcia (fly-half, Bordeaux, 23 years old on July 8, until 2028),

- Juan Ignacio Brex (center, Treviso, 23 years old, 46 caps with Italy, until 2027)

- Mathis Ferté (winger/fullback, Brive, 21 years old, until 2028).

Despite her 43 years, Ma'a Nonu continues her career

The only real surprise (if there is one, since the information was revealed by the newspaper L'Equipe at the end of last week) does not concern a recruit strictly speaking, but rather an extension.

Since the RCT has confirmed that Ma'a Nonu (43 years old, 103 caps for New Zealand) will be at Toulon for another season. The two-time world champion center will therefore continue his immense career in the harbor, and will bring his power and experience to the center of the Var attack.

Already announced in our columns, the RCT has also formalized the extensions of Jérémy Sinzelle (35 years old) for one season, and of Mickaël Ivaldi (35 years old) as a medical joker for Gianmarco Lucchesi.

As a reminder, while the transfer window will officially close at midnight on Monday, July 7, clubs still have the option to sign two additional players, or additional players (for clubs with French international players on the premium list). Or, of course, medical jokers if necessary.
