From July 9 to 13, the Périgourdins will compete in the French Speedway Championships in Libourne. This will be an opportunity to meet Manon Hostens, who will be attempting to bring home a medal.

They will come from all over mainland France and overseas to win the French championship title in the 200 and 500 meters. For five days, the Libourne Canoeing Club is organizing the French Sprint Sprint Championships. Périgourdins will also be making the trip. In total, around fifteen athletes from Périgueux, Marsac, Port-Sainte-Foy, and Saint-Antoine will be taking part.

Ambassador

Among them are Marsacois Maxence Barouh, who spent the week in Slovenia alongside Mattéo Zanni, junior world champion, and Nicolas Sauteur (European downhill champion in Italy, early June). Regulars at these competitions, they should win the title in K1 for Barouh and with Sauteur in K2 500 meters. The duo Clémentine and Manon Hostens will be at the start in K1 and K2 500 meters but also in the 200 meters. Manon Hostens, multiple medalist, should be fighting for the title after her recent exploits at the European downhill, early June in Italy and in K2 with her teammate Vanina Paoletti, at the European sprint championships in the Czech Republic.

Moreover, the Périgourdine will be the ambassador for these French championships, along with Maxime Beaumont from the Boulogne club. Both have participated in several Olympic Games and have been promoted by the Libourne club.

The other Périgourdins competing in this competition will also be worth keeping an eye on. Each will definitely want to climb to the top step of the podium in their category. The Port-Sainte-Foy and Saint-Antoine clubs will also be fielding cadets. In Périgueux, Agathe Dupuy will be competing in the C1 500 meters in the junior category.
