This Saturday, May 24, Yannick Bru's Union Bordeaux-Bègles won their first European title after their disappointment last season. Beating Northampton by a score of 28 to 20, Mathieu Jalibert's teammates wrote their names in the annals of the Bordeaux club.

The Champions Cup, Europe's most prestigious competition, was won by Yannick Bru's Union Bordeaux-Bègles . A liberation for the players who dominated the 2025 edition. While the rocket Louis Bielle-Biarey didn't score, Damian Penaud made his mark on the final against Northampton with a brace to finish with a score of 28 to 20.

The latter did not hide his joy and emotion at winning a first title with the Girondin club: “ A huge amount of happiness, a huge amount of work. This group was fabulous from start to finish. No one ever gave up .” The next big match takes place next week in the TOP 14 against Rugby Club Toulonnais, with the aim of confirming second place, synonymous with direct qualification for the final stages.
