Austrian extreme jumping champion Felix Baumgartner is believed to have died because of... a poorly mounted camera. At least, that's the theory put forward by Il Resto del Carlino . The Italian daily reports that investigators have reconstructed the accident that occurred on July 17 in Porto Sant'Elpidio.
According to them, the camera installed by the record-breaking skydiver came loose and landed in the middle of his paraglider's propeller. Therefore, the fifty-year-old was fully conscious at the time of impact, contrary to what was originally reported.

Felix Baumgartner then reportedly suffered a fracture of the lower part of his spine and a spinal cord injury.
He was notably known for having made a freefall jump from an altitude of 39,000 meters in 2012.
