European gold and silver for three triathletes from Dordogne

From May 15th to 17th, five athletes from Team Master Tri 24 competed in the European Aquathlon and Aquabike Championships. They finished with three medals!
In terms of podium finishes, during these European Championships in Pamplona (Spain), Team Master Tri 24 came close to a clean sweep! Indeed, in aquathlon, two club representatives finished just off the podium: Xavier Tupet in the 50-54 age group and Valérie Ducatillion, the club's president, who, in the 55-59 age group, finished just thirteen seconds off the medal. It was frustrating after a 1 km swim and 5 km run, but a nice improvement compared to her fifteenth place in the competition last year.
And three other Périgourdins went on to win the trinket. Two silver medals, in aquathlon for Sébastien Sudrie in the 55-59 age group and in aquabike for former rugby player Mickaël Skrzelezyk, European vice-champion for his first time in the 35-39 age group.
Finally, a regular on international podiums took gold in the aquathlon. Fabrice Bossion won a new European title in the 60-64 age group. After an average swim in 17°C water, he managed to overtake two competitors in the run to win. A wonderful gift on his 60th birthday!
