Will the French rugby union team do better than third place at the World Cup? This Saturday, August 23, the French team will kick off the 10th edition of the competition against Italy at Sandy Park in Exeter, a city in southwest England.

Third-place finishers in the last three editions, Manae Feleu and her teammates have a clear goal: to lift their first World Cup title. To achieve this, they will have to excel in their Group D, which also includes South Africa and Brazil.

Their opponent, Italy, reached the quarterfinals at the last World Cup, held in New Zealand in 2021, marking their best run in history. Recent statistics, however, favor the French: they have won four consecutive matches against the Italians since 2022.

The first match of the French XV World Cup against Italy can be followed from 9:15 p.m. on TF1.
