In basketball, Menton remains in National 3!

The Careï gymnasium was rocking this Saturday during a decisive match for the club's future in the National 3 division. Facing Chambéry, the Menton players had no room for error to ensure their survival. Mission accomplished thanks to a victory obtained at the end of a thrilling match, Menton enjoyed a calm end to the season and will therefore remain in the National 3 division next year.
Menton contains ChambéryWith a difficult start to the match from the outset, Chambéry imposed their rhythm, controlling the first quarter and taking advantage of the home team's inaccuracies. The visitors quickly widened the gap (10', 16-27), leaving the local fans in doubt. Menton's awakening in the second quarter allowed them to reverse the trend. Regaining their defensive footing and benefiting from an inspired Da Silva Fernandes in attack, Menton came back into the game, even taking a slight lead at halftime (50-44).
After the break, Chambéry was quick to react, pushing Menton to their limits. But despite the pressure, the home side held firm and managed to finish the third quarter in the lead, maintaining a narrow advantage heading into the final period (30', 74-63). The final quarter was Menton's confirmation. Thanks to their renewed skill and a stalwart defense, the players were able to contain the opposing attacks and widen the lead.
This victory, combined with the defeat of their direct relegation rivals, allows Menton to officially secure their place in Nationale 3 for next season. Relief at the final whistle, players, staff, and supporters burst into joy. After a trying season, Menton avoided relegation and can now confidently prepare for the future.
