Maxime BMX rider Ethan Simionato-Fusztey is European champion in the 13-year-old category

For some BMX riders in Maxime, the summer will be busy: it began this weekend with the European Challenge held in Latvia. And, good news, Ethan Simionato-Fusztey won the European Championship title in the 13-year-old category.

Already crowned last year in the 12-year-old category, the young Maxime rider achieved a formidable double at the continental level. He dominated the competition head and shoulders, winning all seven races, including the final, of course.

Let us recall that last year, he also won the title of French Champion, Ethan occupies the lead in the general classification of the French Cup, before the last round scheduled for September on the Mours track, in the Val d'Oise.

More recently, the now double European champion won the bronze medal last month at the French Trophy in the 13/14 year old category, even though he was only in his first year!

The World Cup is coming soon

Three other Maxime drivers made the trip to Latvia. Theo Caranta, the 2024 French champion, was unfortunately eliminated in the quarter-finals of the 9-year-old category, despite being one of the favorites for the title.

Both licensed with BMX Sarrians but trained at the Maxime club, Camile Brouchier finished in a fine ^6th place in the junior category and his little brother Andreas was eliminated at the gates of the final after a ^5th place in the semi-final.

These four drivers will be back at the World Championships, scheduled for July 28th to August 3rd in Copenhagen. Nathan Grevet and Léo Desjaques will also be making the trip. Ethan will be among the favorites to win the world title.

In terms of results, the club, chaired by Franck Chapon, has won up to eight departmental titles and three regional titles.
