MMA: UFC, back in Paris and still as attractive to French fans

This event has been on the agenda of mixed martial arts (MMA) fans in France for a long time. Every September since 2022, the Ultimate Fight Championship (UFC), the world's largest organization in the sport, has been taking place on French soil, at the Accor Arena (Palais Omnisports de Paris-Bercy). On Saturday, September 6, 14 fights are scheduled, featuring several French fighters.
Among the headliners of this fourth edition of UFC Paris is Benoît Saint Denis . The 29-year-old former member of the French special forces is facing Brazilian Mauricio Ruffy in the lightweight (-70 kg) category. The other highly anticipated fight, billed as the "main event," is Nassourdine Imavov. Number 2 in the middleweight (-84 kg) category, the Frenchman from the Dagestan region (Russia) is facing Brazilian Caio Borralho.
Despite these matches, no world championship titles will be contested at Saturday's event. This is a decision made by the American league, which prefers to hold world championship fights in the United States or in a country with a time zone that can guarantee prime-time broadcasts on American soil.
