The 32 players in the 2025 Engie Open du Périgord final draw are now known. Twenty-two of them did not have to go through qualifying, thanks to their ranking (three Spanish players but only one French player, Amandine Hesse, ranked 332nd in the world, among the eight seeds) or via an invitation, from the Federation for three French players (Juliette Trunet, Eleejah Inisan and Daphnée Mpetshi-Perricard), and from the tournament director (Bernard Darqué, president of the CAP) for Polina Leykina. It should be noted that the Russian, ranked 1008th in the world, plays in the French Interclub Championship with the CAP team.

No luck for her in the draw, as she was handed the number 2 seed, Georgian Ekaterine Gorgodze. A confrontation that will open the day, starting at 9:30 a.m. this Tuesday, June 24, on Court 4. Three Spaniards will play at the same time: Aliona Bolsova (seeded number 5) will face her compatriot Lucia Cortez Llorca on Court 3, while Cristina Diaz Adrover will challenge Mpetshi-Perricard on Court 5.

On these same three courts, three singles and two doubles matches will follow, including that of Capistes Leykina and Timéa Gallien, against Françoise Abanda (Canada) and Marie Mattel (France) in the early afternoon on the 5th (access is always free for all these matches). And that's all for today's program!

Which means that, on Wednesday, ten singles matches will have to be played, at a minimum. Not sure that's a good idea given the weather forecast, with a risk of thunderstorms in Périgueux starting the afternoon of June 25.

The players shouldn't suffer too much from the heat today, except perhaps the six who will play early in the afternoon, in a singles match (court 4) and a doubles match (court 5). Photo Jean-Baptiste Marty
