The last time was 20 years ago... 3 reasons to believe that Nice's Loïs Boisson can qualify for the Roland-Garros final

Loïs Boisson faces Coco Gauff this afternoon, after committing 10 double faults in her quarterfinal against Madison Keys. For comparison, the Frenchwoman only committed 3 against Mirra Andreeva. This detail could be costly at this stage of the competition, especially since Court Philippe-Chatrier will be favoring the Frenchwoman, while Gauff already failed to deliver great tennis against her American compatriot in the final round.
2. Mental strengthAnother reason to believe in the Frenchwoman is her ability to stay focused in all circumstances and never let her emotions get the better of her. Loïs Boisson, beaten 6-0 in the second set by Elsa Jacquemot in the round of 16, was able to come back to win the deciding set 7-5. In the next round, she turned the match around against Jessica Pegula (world number 3), despite losing the first set. Finally, the Côte d'Azur native came back from a break and a three-game deficit in the second set of her quarter-final against Mirra Andreeva to finish on a run of six consecutive games won.
3. Winning shotsAlthough surrounded by the best players in the world in the last four (Sabalenka number 1, Swiatek number 5 and Gauff number 2), it is indeed Loïs Boisson who has hit the most winning shots since the start of the tournament among those still in the competition.
With a total of 157 direct points (31 on average per match), the Frenchwoman can give anyone a hard time and her chances of reaching the final are not unfounded.
