The Saint-Tropez tennis club, the new socializing spot?

Transformed facilities: the Tennis Club Pierre-Philippot has benefited from a new playing environment since this week. Six courts combining hard and clay surfaces, and an increasing number of padel courts (5 during the high season, the central court being reconfigured), a popular sport adopted by racket game enthusiasts.
And a relaxing setting since the clubhouse has been completely redesigned (restaurant area) and improved with a roof terrace which offers a breathtaking view of the courts and exceptional views of the entire surrounding landscape.
Tribute to Pierre PhilippotMayor Sylvie Siri, "happy with this complete rehabilitation that I discovered just now", with a "modernized and redesigned" structure, was keen to retrace the journey of this section created in 1963 by Pierre Philippot "who embodied sporting and sharing values" .
Necessary transformation work"We have been having meetings with the UST for a year to be able to press the button for this renovation," the mayor continues.
At the helm of this transformation is the deputy for sports, Christophe Coutal, whose first words were addressed to the mayor: "You always tell us , 'Saint-Tropez obliges us,' but it is you who obliges us to offer you projects for the children. We can thank the sports associations and the president of the UST, Frédéric Della Valle, with more than 2,000 members."
The elected official recalled the evolution of sporting events in Saint-Tropez: " We were criticized for the lack of off-season events ." In five years, a host of events have been pinned to the calendar: the Pétanque Masters, "we will host the Women's National Championship next October" ; sailing with the Sail GP; the Lawyers' World Cup, the Olympic Doctors' Championship. "And finally, something close to my heart, the ATP tennis tournament (now at level 125), the only one in the world in a municipal structure. Thanks to Thierry Ascione (1) who brought us this event and who will help us evolve."
A place more than sporty? For the man who became president in 2012, a thought for the past and the road traveled. "Everyone must be aware of the change ," revisits Junior Deschene. "Thirteen years ago, there were only 82 members, today, we are 500 and we continue to grow. Take advantage of these facilities which will remain accessible to each of you."
This milestone is confirmed by the words of Benjamin Rousseau [ATP tournament director and active member of the club], who is delighted to benefit from such a working tool, but not only that. "The project is quite exceptional; few cities can equip themselves with such infrastructure. But we're going to open the premises as much as possible. We're trying to put things in place to make it a real social space."
Sports policy under the mandateThe mayor also outlined the scope of the sports component with the construction of several facilities, including the redesign of the Salins stadium, which has become a real magnet for runners. "The last facility we need is the sports field," she stated.
His deputy for sports confirmed this upcoming rehabilitation of the COSEC, driven by the city's desire to create a multimodal platform at Moulin-Blanc. "It's a 5-6 year project, because there must be no interruption to sports," the elected official stated.
