This Champions League club owner lives in an incredible castle

Thanks to his fortune, his lifestyle is luxurious, but he contributes greatly to the development of his club.

Have you heard of Lars Seier Christensen? This Danish businessman, who co-owns FC Copenhagen, is much more than just a football-loving investor. At 62, Lars Seier Christensen doesn't just own a piece of the reigning Danish champions, FC Copenhagen. He lives a luxurious life in a setting that's both enchanting and impressive: a castle in Switzerland. Imagine a lush green hill in the canton of St. Gallen, and at its peak, the 750-year-old Schwarzenbach Castle. It's here, surrounded by majestic trees, that Seier Christensen has chosen to set down his suitcases.

Lars Seier Christensen acquired it not only for its historic charm, but also because it offered him just enough space for a private golf course! While the Danish multimillionaire may seem humble when he claims he's not a fan of luxury, appearances are quickly deceiving when you consider the treasures in his garage. Bentleys, Maseratis, Ferraris, Maybachs—you've got all the dream cars that turn heads.

And what about his passion for wine, these precious liquids adorning the many rooms of his castle. He doesn't hesitate to savor the finest wines when he's not enjoying gastronomic outings where he spends nearly 1,000 Swiss francs several times a week without batting an eyelid. The leader's castle also features a champagne bar equipped with a golden motorcycle, a souvenir decorated with precious stones given to him by his mother.

But he didn't always have this princely lifestyle. In 1992, Christensen started the investment company Midas with a starting investment of £30,000, which would flourish and become Saxo Bank. The sale of this successful business netted him around £280 million, triggering a meteoric rise in his fortune.

Today, Lars Seier Christensen invests in more than just FC Copenhagen. He invests in more than fifty companies and startups. He has valued his stake in the Copenhagen club at over 20% since 2019.
