Michel Grimaud sailed to Newfoundland, his only infidelity to Pléneuf. Here, he trawled the sandpits and fished for sea urchins and scallops in the small port nearby, Dahouët. He has black eyes crested with bushy eyebrows, a low voice, and the weary flow of his 87 years. Home for him, it's the seawall. When his memory returns at high tide, he speaks of another century, of plots sold by the commune to a "Suez Canal engineer" and of "Egyptian ministers" .
