The peloton will set off tomorrow for a 201.5 km race from Bayeux to Vire. A route far from the summits, but one that nonetheless hides numerous difficulties along a route punctuated by numerous hills.

"This is certainly the most challenging flat stage in the recent history of the Tour, with more than 3,500 meters of elevation gain," warns Christian Prudhomme, the race director. The finale will be the Côte de Vaudry and before "the expected battle over the 700 meters at 10% gradient before the finish line."
