Tour de France: Terrible boredom, total suspense, strong emotions... Our ranking of the 21st century editions in pictures

For the reasons mentioned above, these two editions do not appear in our Top 10. The winner in 2009, Alberto Contador dominated Andy Schleck, but the 3rd overall finisher, the returning Lance Armstrong, was subsequently stripped of his place and demoted. The following year, in 2010, Contador's incredible victory (by 39 seconds!) even went to Schleck following a CAS decision in 2012. And for good reason, the Spaniard had tested positive for clenbuterol during the race (the Russian Menchov, 3rd, was also demoted). A race that remains, in the history books, spectacular with the formidable Contador/Schleck mano a mano in the Tourmalet (17th stage). But the shadow of doping will always loom large. Let us remember from these two years the multiple French victories obtained by Thomas Voeckler (2009 and 2010), Brice Feillu (2009), Pierrick Fédrigo (2009 and 2010), Sandy Casar (2009 and 2010), Christophe Riblon (2010) and Sylvain Chavanel (twice in 2010). - Belga / Icon Sport
