Two Ferraris lead the 24 Hours of Le Mans at dawn

The night at Le Mans was rather quiet in the Hypercar category, with only one retirement to report, that of the #101 Cadillac due to engine failure. The #51 Ferrari almost lost everything a little after 1 a.m., when Antonio Giovinazzi collided with the #33 Corvette on his pit lap, which resulted in a penalty and a puncture. It was therefore forced to return to the pits again and also received a penalty for speeding. At the 2-hour standings, it had fallen to 7th place, more than two minutes behind.
But the safety car's exit at 3:12 allowed it to return to the leading group. And at the 7:00 a.m. standings, it was in the lead, just a few seconds ahead of the #83 Ferrari. For the moment, only the #8 Toyota, which is currently having an exemplary race, seems capable of preventing a 499P one-two. It is 3rd, 43 seconds behind the leading Ferrari, followed by the #50.
The rest of the top 10 is made up of the No. 6 Porsche, the No. 12 Cadillac, the No. 15 BMW, the No. 7 Toyota, the No. 38 Cadillac and the No. 5 Porsche.
There were no French cars in the top 10, with the two Alpines in 13th and 14th, and the two Peugeots in 15th and 20th. Only the top 12 Hypercars were on the same lap.
Note that in the GT3 category, the BMW n°46 of Valentino Rossi retired a little before 4 a.m. due to a mechanical problem.
