Wimbledon: Gaël Monfils in a tug of war, stopped by nightfall

Neck and neck at two sets each with the Hungarian Márton Fucsovics, the 38-year-old Frenchman will have to return to the fight this Friday, to qualify for the third round.
You'll need to sleep well tonight. Gaël Monfils , 38, was locked in a heated battle with the powerful Hungarian Márton Fucsovics when the highly competitive second-round Wimbledon match was halted by nightfall, just before 10 p.m. in London.
The 38-year-old Frenchman, once again surprising physically and eager to finish the job this Thursday evening, finally conceded the fourth set, thus falling to two sets all at the time of the interruption (4-6, 6-1, 6-4, 6-7 (5/7)). See you this Friday to begin the fifth set and find out the winner of this arm wrestling.
Skip the adBefore the interruption, the London crowd witnessed a bizarre match, with each opponent experiencing their own setbacks. In the fourth set, in particular, Monfils trailed 3-0 and then fought back by winning five games in a row. He then served for the match, but Fucsovics then mounted a comeback to lead 6-5.
"La Monf" pulled off a tiebreak that he handled poorly against the 33-year-old Hungarian, a former world No. 31 who was eliminated in qualifying but was brought back into the main draw after a forfeit. In the next round, the winner of the match will face either American Ben Shelton (10th) or Australian Rinky Hijikata (87th).
