Jonzac: The vocal trio Tsan Ta in concert at the Rétro asso café

By Colette Macintos
The group will perform a cappella polyphonies in Occitan and French, as well as songs from other regions, on Saturday, July 26 at the Rétro Asso Café.
On Saturday, July 26, at 6 p.m. in the garden of the Rétro Asso Café, 3, place du Marché, the female vocal trio Tsan Ta – the word phonetically means to sing in Limousin Occitan – will perform a cappella polyphonies in Occitan, French, and songs from other regions.
Émeline Marcon, Louise Le Creurer, and Julie Cailleau became friends while studying music in Bordeaux and reunited a decade later to explore the Occitan-language tales and songs of their native lands: Limousin, Lot-et-Garonne, and Gascony. They perform these melodies and stories with a touch of modernity. They practice the sacred art of polyphonic singing and breathe new life into these testimonies of the past, in their quest to reconnect with the primitive essence of humanity and nature. Their only instrument: the voice. Admission is free, and a refreshment bar is available on site.
