Samsung email confirms why upgrading your Galaxy phone is a really bad idea

If you are thinking about upgrading your current Galaxy phone, then that might be a bad idea. Samsung continues to tease the upcoming launch of a new Galaxy Ultra device, with the Korean company now confirming that it is 'coming soon'. In an email message sent to customers, Samsung said, "Coming soon: two phones in one. The new Galaxy Foldable is coming."

Although there's still no official release date, many are speculating that one of Samsung's huge Unpacked events will take place in early July and will be all about its range of bendy devices.

Judging from the teasers in the latest email, it appears one of the new devices will be given the ultimate Ultra branding (a bit like the top end S25 Ultra that launched earlier this year), and just like its Z Fold predecessors, will offer a normal screen on the front, which then opens to reveal a huge tablet.

What could make this next generation device more appealing is it size. Rumours are rife that Samsung will follow some of its rivals and launch a much thinner foldable in 2025.

This would make the folding dual-display "Galaxy Fold Ultra" (we're still not sure of the exact name) far easier to handle and pop into pockets.

To add fuel to that fire, Samsung recently confirmed something better is on its way. In a post online, the company said, "For years, Samsung has listened to users asking for bigger screens, better cameras and new ways to connect and create. The demand is clear — an Ultra-experience that goes beyond a simple list of upgraded features in a smaller and more portable form factor.

"With industry-leading hardware, cutting-edge performance and seamless AI integration optimised for the foldable format, it’s what users have come to expect from Galaxy Ultra."

Alongside this device, we're also expecting to see a new Z Flip unveiled as well. Recent leaked images have shown how this update could get a much bigger cover display which will make it easier to answer calls, send texts and reply to emails without opening things up.

The new leak also claims the Z Flip 7 will be thinner than the Z Flip 6, which was quite chunky. We're also expecting all of Samsung's new phones to be powered by Qualcomm's latest Snapdragon 8 Elite processor.

If a July launch is correct, we should find out more details very soon. Express.co.uk will keep an eye out for the latest rumours and will update you once we hear more.
