'A Journey I’m So Grateful For': Dessie Farrell Says Emotional Goodbye To Dublin Job

Dessie Farrell has stepped down from his role as Dublin senior football manager following his side's 0-23 to 0-16 defeat by Tyrone on Saturday.
Farrell took over from Jim Gavin in 2020 and led the Sky Blues to two all-Ireland titles in 2020 and 2023.
He revealed he was stepping down in an interview with Dave McIntyre on GAA+.
Farrell was asked if he was the man to take Dublin forward, and the Na Fianna man said he'd told the Dublin county board at the start of the season that this would be his final year in charge, no matter what happened.
"I would’ve informed the county board at the start of this season that regardless of what happened this would be my last season the players were aware of that," he said.
Farrell does not give much away in interviews, but you could feel the emotion as he spoke of his many years of service for Dublin GAA.
