Club GAA Giants To Appoint Renowned Psychologist Caroline Currid To 2025 Coaching Ticket

Galway GAA giants Maigh Cuillin have made a major addition to their coaching staff ahead of the 2025 club season and secured the services of renowned sports psychologist Caroline Currid.
The news, first broken by The Maroon & White Pod, signals a significant coup for Maigh Cuilinn. Most GAA clubs do not enjoy the services of a sports psychologist, never mind Currid, who is one of the most experienced and successful in the game.
The former Sligo footballer has been active in the game going back as far as 2008, when she started her intercounty career under then Tyrone manager Mickey Harte. The Red Hand County would go on to claim the All-Ireland football Championship that year, kickstarting a run that would see Currid involved with ten All-Ireland wins across four different counties.
After two years in Tyrone, she moved to the Tipperary senior hurlers. They too won an All-Ireland during Currid's first year. That was a success repeated for a third time when she joined Pat Gilroy's Dublin footballers in 2011, aiding them in their famous return to the pinnacle.

Currid's most recent involvement has been with the Limerick senior hurling team, where she has been a key member of John Kiely's backroom staff since 2018, during which time Limerick claimed six All-Ireland senior hurling championships, including three-in-a-row between 2020 and 2022.

Despite being ever-present on the intercounty scene, Caroline Currid is now set to enjoy a foray into a club game that seems to be growing more serious and more professional with every passing year.
Currid, who has also worked with Paul O'Connell and Munster Rugby, will now be charged with overturning the final woes that Galway star Sean Kelly's home club have suffered in recent years.
The club's last Galway SFC and foray into All-Ireland action came in 2022. However, since then Maigh Cuilinn have fallen at the final hurdle for two consecutive years, succumbing to final defeat from Corofin on both occasions.
Given the instant impact Currid has had in the past, and her reputation for bringing teams to the next level, they'll be hoping that overcoming Corofin and claiming another Galway senior title will just be the start of a much longer season this Autumn.
