Comer named on Galway bench for Newry showdown

Damien Comer has been named in Galway’s match-day 26 for Sunday’s All-Ireland senior football championship preliminary quarter-final against Down in Newry.
An injury at training last week saw Comer ultimately miss out on a place in Tribesmen’s panel for last Saturday’s thrilling win over Armagh in Cavan.
However, manager Padraic Joyce has selected the Annaghdown at no 26 for this weekend’s knockout showdown against the Mourne men.
The Connacht champions made two changes to their starting 15 which from the one-point win over the All-Ireland champions which see Cian Hernon and Paul Conroy coming in and Peter Cooke and Jack Glynn making way.
Throw-in at Pairc Esler is at 1.45pm.
