Bayern Munich star Leroy Sane has turned down an offer of £85million from the Saudi Pro League. The Germany international was the subject of interest from Al-Ittihad, who already lay claim to the likes of Karim Benzema and N'Golo Kante.

Sane was offered a four-year deal that would see him earn a stunning figure, per Sky Sports in Germany. But has rejected the interest as he plans to before his contract with the Bundesliga giants expires this summer.

The ex-Manchester City star, who has been linked with both Arsenal and Liverpool as his deal runs doown, is set to agree to take a pay cut to remain at Bayern Munich. Sane, 29, has convinced the club's hierarchy to make a three-year offer, according to Bild, albeit on reduced terms.

Sane is said to have agreed a £12.8m package, reduced from his current £18m deal. And it is the player's desire to remain at Bayern that appears to have, in part, helped convince Bayern to extend.

There remains belief at Bayern that Sane can be a valuable player at the club while not making a significant dent in the side's salary structure. The ex-Premier League star could also quickly see a deal re-negoitated if he impresses on the pitch, with new discussions touted for 12 months time if required.

The German side have been required to make a number of decisions over the futures of experienced stars this summer. Thomas Mueller's exit from the club was confirmed earlier this month.

Mueller has made 748 appearances over a 25-year stay with the club and will not be offered a new contract. The World Cup winner had wanted to extend his stay however.

"Even if this did not correspond to my personal wishes, it is important that the club follows its convictions," he said. "Even after all these years, regardless of the minutes I play, I still have a lot of fun being on the pitch with the boys. I could have easily imagined playing this role next year as well."

There was no shortage of speculation over the future of Joshua Kimmich too. The 30-year-old ultimately decided to sign a new three-year deal despite interest from the Premier League.

Bayern are said to become Bundesliga champions once again under Vincent Kompany's tutelage, after missing out to Bayer Leverkusen last term. They own an eight-point lead over their rivals with nine remaining and thus could earn the title against RB Leipzig this week.

Unforunately for Harry Kane, the striker will miss the game as he finally breaks his trophy duck. The 31-year-old has scored 24 goals in 29 appearances this term, but earned a fifth yellow card which sees him suspended for the game.

The ex-Tottenham star was left frustrated with the outcome. "Crazy, crazy decision!" he said.

"It's kind of my story that I'll miss the Leipzig game. But no worries, I'll celebrate more than anyone else.

"I'm very disappointed that I got the yellow card. Because I also knew I already had four yellow cards. It's crazy to be suspended with five yellow cards in 34 matches. It's just a crazy rule. There should be a reset of yellow cards halfway through the season, like in the Premier League."
