For the third time in four games to open the 2025 American Legion season, Northampton Post 28 picked up a victory on Friday night.

Amherst Hurricanes 3, Palmer 2 – Daniel Lebron smacked a walk-off hit in the bottom of the seventh inning to power the Hurricanes to a 3-2 win on Friday night at Amherst Middle School.
The winning run was scored by Tristan Feeley, who ran for Sean Lucien after Lucien injured his ankle legging out a double to the left-center gap.
The tense and well-played WMSBL semi-final was a true pitchers’ duel with Cyrus Arwade allowing one run over four innings for Amherst. In the bottom of the fifth, Amherst took the lead on a single by Gus Garrett Peltier, a walk drawn by Arwade and a two-run scoring triple by Oliver Howard.
Palmer tied it in the top of the seventh, setting up a dramatic home half. Feeley reached on a leadoff walk but was thrown out at third on Lucien’s double. Isaac Lawrence Slavas turned the order over by drawing a two-out walk, setting the stage for Lebron to drive in the winning run.
Garrett Peltier picked up the win with three innings of one-run relief.
