Tyrone finished with a flourish against Dublin at Croke Park this evening to progress to the last four of the All-Ireland senior football championship.

The Red Hands registered the last six points to win out by 0-23 to 0-16 at headquarters and put themselves into the hat for tomorrow evening’s semi-final draw in the Sam Maguire Cup race, sending the Dubs packing in the process.

The second of today’s quarter-finals in the capital saw an air tight first-half unfold between the teams, as they were level four times in the opening 35 minutes before Darren McCurry’s point edged a 0-11 to 0-10 half-time lead for Tyrone.

Paddy Small levelled things up for Dessie Farrell’s men with the first score of the second-half prior to their Ulster counterparts pushing three ahead via the points of Darragh Canavan, Ciaran Daly and corner-back Niall Devlin.

While the Dubs kept right within touching distance, they wouldn’t manage to get it level as some wayward shooting cost them dearly in the end.

Luke Breathnach’s point had the scoreboard reading 0-17 to 0-16 with six minutes left to play and, crucially, it was the Red Hands that got the next score through substitute Ruairi Canavan ahead of McDonnell fisting over with two minutes remaining.

After that, the two Canavan brothers landed back-to-back scores to cushion Tyrone's lead prior to Niall Morgan’s long range free cementing the seven-point win and place in the last four.
