"Massimo Corso Memorial", collection for the Ant

Massimo Meoni, director of San Giusto, thus remembered Massimo Corso, who passed away at just 42 years old in 2017. Because just a few days ago, the San Giusto stadium hosted the 2025 edition of the " Massimo Corso Memorial ", a seven-a-side football tournament that Corso's friends and former teammates have been competing in for over five years in his memory.

Originally from San Giusto, Massimo grew up playing football at Zenith, before moving to Fiorentina's youth academy after attracting the attention of Fiorentina scouts. He then returned to the city, starting with Prato's youth system and even making his first-team debut. He subsequently played in Serie D, playing for Sestese, and later also for Vaianese. Once he hung up his boots, he began coaching, starting with Seano, in the Third Category.

Those attending the event in his honor remembered him on the pitch, his "natural environment," considering his lifelong passion. The Amici Giallorossi won this latest edition of the memorial, but as always, the victory was overshadowed: over the course of the evening, approximately €600 was raised, the sum of which was then donated to the ANT . Corso passed away prematurely eight years ago after fighting for two years, but his memory lives on.
