Accident in Barano: A young man underwent emergency surgery at Rizzoli Hospital in critical condition.

The young motorcyclist who was the victim of a tragic accident this afternoon in the "Starza" area of Barano d'Ischia remains in limbo. According to witnesses, the scooter driver lost control in a desperate attempt to avoid an elderly man who was crossing the road. After skidding, he crashed into a wall, sustaining serious injuries.

The 30-year-old man was rushed to Rizzoli Hospital in critical condition. Immediately taken care of by the surgical team composed of Doctors Loffredo, Campione, and Cornacchia, he underwent a delicate nephrectomy, which required the arrest of a hepatic hemorrhage and, unfortunately, the removal of his right kidney, which had been irreparably damaged by the violent trauma.

The patient also has pulmonary contusions and a cerebral hemorrhage of such severity that he must be transferred to Cardarelli Hospital in Naples, where he will be evaluated for a likely highly complex neurosurgery procedure. Post-operative management and intensive monitoring have been entrusted to the intensive care team led by Doctors Tommaselli, Striano, and Verde, who are currently ensuring his clinical stability, despite the extremely serious nature of his condition.
