Boni and Fornaciari win

The home team scored a double in the fourth edition of the Ercole Spallanzani Memorial , an event reserved for the fourth category and dedicated to the dean of Reggio Emilia sports journalists, who passed away in May 2021.

On the courts of the Circolo Tennis Reggio , the victory in the women's tournament went to the young Gloria Boni , who fought her way into the lower half of the draw by first winning the derby against Giorgia Tirelli with a double 6-3, before defeating Chiara Bardeli (Tennis Modena) with a score of 6-2, 6-1. In the final, however, it took a battle to the last point to get the better of the other CT Reggio athlete, Maria Angelica Tribuzio, the number one seed, who after winning the first set succumbed in her opponent's return with a score of 3-6, 6-2, 10-4.

Boni therefore ascends the throne, which was held in the first edition by Parola Perotti (CT Reggio), in 2023 by Stefania Corradini (CT Albinea) and by the Bolognese Federica Tossani (TC Nettuno) in last year's tournament.

Men's Tournament. Among the 64 participants in the men's tournament, the winner was Massimiliano Fornaciari , who succeeds Luca Gepri (Albinea coach), the 2024 winner, in the roll of honor.
