Car driving the wrong way on the A22: one dead and five injured in the accident, head-on collision on the motorway

It would have been caused by a car that entered the Autobrennero in the wrong direction, the accident that occurred last night on the highway, in Bolzano . One dead and five injured , including three children, the toll of the crash that also caused traffic closures and queues of tens of kilometers. The permanent firefighters of Bolzano, the traffic police and numerous ambulances intervened on the scene.
The accident occurred shortly before 5:00 a.m., a car entered the Bolzano Sud motorway toll booth heading the wrong way in a northerly direction. The collision with another car was reported to have been head-on . Traffic was diverted onto the nearby Brennero state road. The motorway remained closed in a southerly direction for several hours. After the closure was lifted, a 10-kilometer tailback had formed in the direction of Bolzano Sud. A 4-kilometer tailback, still heading south, between Brennero and the Vipiteno motorway toll booth.
The children injured in the accident are 14, 11 and 8 years old. They were transferred by helicopter to the University Clinic in Innsbruck . Two other injured people were transported to the hospitals in Bressanone and Trento.
