Roberto Colacone leaves Romagna, Venezia offers him a three-year contract
Forward together, or rather no. Yesterday morning, Roberto Colacone resigned as head of the youth sector, together with him his deputy, as well as right-hand man, Carlo Luisi, sent the letter for the termination of the relationship, an act that greatly annoyed the American board that only the evening before had taken for granted the normal continuation of the relationship as per the contract. The intention of the Juventus top brass was to refuse the resignation, but in the end the former Genoa and Modena striker will leave Romagna, it is difficult to continue in these conditions, and the destination is Venice, where he will go to cover the same role, but with a three-year contract in his pocket when in Juventus he had an agreement expiring in June 2026. Probably the failure to extend the contract is at the root of the probable divorce, Colacone had already met with the Juventus top brass a few weeks ago to ask to extend the deadline at least until 2027, but always received a refusal and as a maximum concession the promise to talk about it again after the summer. The resignation, we were saying, comes after the Cavalluccio top brass had made it known that the meetings on Thursday between Colacone himself and the ds Filippo Fusco, then also with the general manager Di Taranto, had given a positive outcome. Cesena was happy with the work done by Colacone in the two years he spent on the banks of the Savio, and Colacone himself was happy to continue the relationship with Cavalluccio, this is essentially the report of the summit. To support everything, however, there has always been a lack of confirmation from the mouth of the now ex-head of the Juventus youth sector who yesterday shocked everyone with his resignation after the planning of the season had already been discussed in concrete terms and talks with the coaches had been held.
Colacone was evidently not completely convinced by the discussions with Fusco and Di Taranto, then the pressure from Venezia, accompanied by a multi-year proposal, to have him in charge of its youth team, did the rest. Staying on the subject of farewells, there is also talk of a possible departure of goalkeeping coach Antonello Degiorgi, with Federico Agliardi reportedly being contacted in his place. Degiorgi arrived in the summer of 2023 to replace Cristiano Scalabrelli and came from his experience at Crotone. For Agliardi, however, a return to the court of Cavalluccio after having defended his goal 103 times in seven seasons and in all categories from D to A. His black and white palmares also included promotion to the top division in 2014 and from D to C in 2019. Subsequently, he was also goalkeeping coach for United Riccione (2022-2023), Fermana (2023-2024) and Rimini in the championship just concluded.
