Crushed by tractor, 47-year-old dies after two days of agony

Monterchi (Arezzo), 16 June 2025 - The 47-year-old who was seriously injured in an agricultural accident that occurred on Friday 13 June in Monterchi (Arezzo) did not make it; while working in the fields he was hit by a tractor .

The man, born in Albania and who had recently acquired Italian citizenship, died on Sunday evening at the Santa Maria alle Scotte hospital in Siena where he had been admitted in critical condition with serious trauma to the abdomen and pelvis.

The accident occurred in Centena while the man was working in the fields and was hit by a tractor. After 48 hours of agony, the attempts of the doctors at the Siena hospital were unfortunately in vain. The competent authorities are currently investigating the episode. The death of the worker, of Albanian origin, has caused deep emotion in Monterchi where he had lived for years.
