Hunger as a weapon of extermination . Once again, the Israeli army targeted Palestinian civilians queuing at distribution centers run by the Gaza Humanitarina Foundation in Rafah .

The provisional toll is very serious: according to what the Nasser Medical Complex reports, quoted by Al Jazeera, there are at least 32 dead , with dozens injured.

According to the reconstruction provided to AFP by Mahmoud Bassal , spokesman for the local Civil Defense, the victims were found near a center southwest of Khan Younis and four others northwest of Rafah. Both attacks, according to Bassal, were attributable to "Israeli fire."

Israeli authorities have not yet commented on the incident: the IDF, on the contrary, has claimed to have hit 90 military targets in Gaza in the last 24 hours with air and ground strikes. The Israel Defense Forces statement described the discovery and destruction of "terrorist infrastructure in the Beit Hanoun area," while in Gaza City, "launching posts, sniper posts, and weapons depots" were reportedly destroyed.

Israel's objective, which, beyond the declarations of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu , who spoke in a meeting with Pope Leo XVI of a "near" agreement, is the total destruction of the Gaza Strip and the forcible expulsion of the Palestinian population from the enclave.

A target not so far away, at least according to what Adi Ben-Nun, director of the Institute for Geographic Information Systems at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, reported to the Israeli press. The incessant bombings underway since October 8, 2023, have effectively razed the Strip to the ground: 70% of the area is uninhabitable .

"Gaza residents no longer have homes to return to. The world they once knew and their lives are simply gone forever," denounces Adi Ben-Nun after analyzing hundreds of satellite images of the Strip and using an algorithm to assess the extent of the devastation.

And regarding the relations between the Vatican and Israel after the IDF military attack against the Church of the Holy Family in Gaza City , regarding what happened to the Christian parish, it is worth mentioning the very harsh words pronounced by the Vatican Secretary of State, Cardinal Pietro Parolin , in an interview with Tg2 reported by Vatican media. "Regarding this episode, it is a dramatic development. Let's give them time, as much as is necessary, for them to tell us what actually happened , whether it was truly a mistake, something that can legitimately be doubted , or whether there was a desire to attack a Christian church, knowing how much Christians are an element of moderation in the Middle East," were the words of Pope Leo XVI's "Foreign Minister."
