In Favignana the Carabinieri save four turtles in difficulty

During a patrol service in the stretch of sea between Marettimo and Favignana, the military personnel of the Carabinieri vessel stationed on the largest island and the Commander of the local Station, despite the poor visibility due to the thick fog, spotted 4 specimens of turtles of the protected species Caretta Caretta in evident difficulty, as they were unable to dive due to the probable ingestion of plastic.

The military loaded the turtles onto the boat and transported them to Favignana, entrusting them to the care of specialized veterinary personnel from the Marine Protected Area of ​​the Municipality of Egadi. After the examination and weighing, the reptiles were subjected to natural treatment that allowed the expulsion of ingested plastics. Once back in good health, the turtles will be returned to their natural habitat.
