Investigations underway on Andrea Sempio for the murder of Chiara Poggi in Garlasco

Searches are underway at the home of Andrea Sempio, in Voghera (Pavia), a new suspect in the murder of Chiara Poggi, and at his parents' home in Garlasco. This was learned from sources close to the investigation. The Carabinieri of the Investigative Unit of Milan are on site, coordinated by the Public Prosecutor's Office of Pavia.

The searches are coordinated by the Pavia prosecutor, Fabio Napoleone, by the deputy Stefano Civardi and by the pm Valentina De Stefano. Andrea Sempio, 37 years old, is investigated as part of a new reconstruction of the Chiara Poggi murder, which took place in Garlasco (Pavia) on August 13, 2007. The victim's ex-boyfriend, Alberto Stasi, was definitively convicted for the murder in 2015 and is currently on semi-liberty.
