JazzinLaurino's 23rd edition kicks off: eagerly awaited concert by Maestro Nicola Piovani.

JazzinLaurino Festival & Workshop is back with its twenty-third edition, which will conclude on August 11th and will take place at the Laurino Amphitheater.
Always an unmissable event for enthusiasts and professionals, the Festival, organized by the Municipality of Laurino and the Liberi Suoni Association , continues to promote the Cilento hinterland, an area rich in tradition and natural beauty. It also consolidates the historic collaboration with Banca Monte Pruno , the event's partner again this year, in a partnership that guarantees a top-quality musical program every year, a unique educational offering as part of a broader project to enhance the area.
The initiative is supported by the Campania Region, the Cilento, Alburni and Vallo di Diano National Park, and the Musica per Roma Foundation.
The JazzinLaurino Festival & Workshop, now in its 23rd edition, takes place in August and features days of education and concerts. For a week, Laurino transforms into a citadel of music, where musicians and enthusiasts from all over the world gather for an unprecedented experience.
During the Festival's activities, students have the opportunity to study in some of Laurino's most evocative locations, such as the Palazzo Ducale, the Cappella dell'Annunziata, and the Teatro Comunale, preparing for the final concert and traditional jam sessions in the town's clubs.
The highlight of the 2025 event is the concert on August 11th with Maestro Nicola Piovani and his Quartet “Note a Margine” : an exclusive event that promises to deliver strong emotions.
Piovani, with his piano, together with Marina Cesari (sax), Marco Loddo (double bass), and Vittorino Naso (percussion), will present a concert that ranges from his most famous compositions to new pieces, in a fascinating encounter between jazz and film music.
“Note a Margine” is, in fact, a sort of autobiographical tale, commissioned from Nicola Piovani by the Cannes Film Festival in 2003 and is a show in which the artist shares with the audience experiences, memories and emotions from over forty years of career.
Drawing on memories and anecdotes, the Maestro retraces some of the important encounters that have marked his career, from Federico Fellini to Roberto Benigni, with episodes narrated with lightness and sincerity.
Piovani recounts life experiences spanning music, cinema, and theater, accompanied by the notes of his piano, saxophone, and double bass.
JazzinLaurino confirms its status as a major event: it's a place where music becomes an experience, where every note tells a story, where every corner of the town transforms into a stage. BCC Monte Pruno is thrilled to be supporting such a long-running and important event for the community and the surrounding area, always supported by the Municipality of Laurino, led by Mayor Romano Gregorio, and the Liberi Suoni Association, with President Angelo Maffia.
" JazzinLaurino, " stated BCC Monte Pruno General Manager Federico Cono , " is much more than a festival; it is the inland Cilento event that allows us to bring great prestige to Laurino, as it does to Roscigno, places that are part of our history. We have been committed to this collaboration since the first edition, with a view to maintaining close ties with the organizers, and specifically with Mayor Romano Gregorio and Angelo Maffia, true pillars of the event, along with all the people who support them in this cultural mission of enhancing the area. JazzinLaurino is a benchmark for jazz music and successfully enlivens the inland Cilento region with music, education, including for young people, and culture. We are particularly pleased to support this initiative, and the extraordinary presence of Maestro Piovani confirms, once again this year, the value of a Festival that has become the focus of all music lovers and enthusiasts ."
