New signing Vittorio Magni
Negotiations with Palermo for Jonathan Klinsmann reopened but quickly closed. On August 15th, Palermo's sporting director Carlo Osti made one last attempt with Cesena. Cavalluccio's request of just under two million euros, including bonuses, was not approved by the Sicilian club's board. At this point, the goalkeeper, son of a professional goalkeeper, is certain to remain in Romagna, at least until January. Meanwhile, talks about a contract renewal will begin. Jesse Joronen will move to Palermo. Also on August 15th, the loan acquisition of right-back Vittorio Magni from AC Milan with an option to buy was made official. "Born in 2006, Magni grew up in the AC Milan youth academy," the statement reads, "consistently proving to be one of the most popular players in both the Under-20s and the Primavera, where he made his debut at just 17. Last season, he split his time between the Under-20s and Milan Futuro, making 16 appearances in Serie C and the same number in the Primavera 1 Championship, while this season he has been a member of the Rossoneri's first team. Since 2022, Magni has also been a key figure in the Italian youth national teams, with whom he has played 26 matches, taking part in both the Under-17 European Championship and the Under-19 Championship held last summer." The club is now awaiting the signing of striker Marco Olivieri (clearance is expected tomorrow). The next target: Castagnetti. Then a defender and a striker are needed, and Ogunseye, who was not called up for the cup match against Pisa, is still to be found.
