Mastropasqua murder, Donato Romano's arrest validation hearing awaited

The hearing to validate the arrest of Donato Romano, a 43-year-old electrician from Foggia with no criminal record, accused of the murder of Giovanni, known as “Gigi” Mastropasqua , a 50-year-old killed on Thursday morning with a gunshot while he was inside his red Smart in via Arpaia, will be held next Monday.

The suspect is in the city jail after being arrested by the Carabinieri, coordinated by the prosecutor. Romano allegedly shot the victim in the neck for economic reasons, perhaps a debt. According to the reconstruction, the 43-year-old was tracked down by the Carabinieri and the police thanks also to the video surveillance systems present in the area.
