Pascale's latest "pearl". In Lacco Ameno, the beaches with the toilet... from the one next door

Giacomo Pascale's beach ordinance, first adopted and then immediately amended to cancel the ban on bringing dogs to the beach, never ceases to amaze and is now at the center of criticism and controversy. A situation that is far from rare for certain initiatives born from the mayor of Lacco Ameno.

In fact, there is a passage in the provision that appears completely incongruous and also in conflict with the legislation on the matter. It is art. 6, containing the "Special regulations for bathing establishments". Here we read verbatim: "Concessionaires are given the option of signing agreements with adjacent commercial establishments for the use of toilet facilities if they are not installed".

Several readers have already contacted us to highlight the absurdity of a provision that allows a beach resort to form a consortium with a neighboring business for the use of toilet facilities by customers and workers.

But it doesn't end there. In fact, we are told that practically all the beach resorts in the center of Lacco Ameno are without toilets, which however must be mentioned in the Scia di inizio attività privata (Scia of the beginning of the annual activity). Otherwise, they could not open. In fact, the presence of toilets is also required for these activities. So what do we do?

What is the substance of the content of those SCIA? And is the relevant office of the ASL Napoli 2 Nord aware of the "case"? Considering that it has now become public knowledge, what actions will it intend to take against the beach establishments lacking an essential requirement, even if "authorized" by the mayor?

There remain other questions and considerations (even malicious ones) on the real purpose of this union provision, clearly favorable to the owners of the establishments. All aspects certainly to be clarified and on which an intervention by the opposition is foreseeable. In short, in addition to the heat that is already tormenting us, in this summer of 2025 the beaches of Lacco are destined to become even hotter. And all because of yet another pearl of the "Baron" ...
