Patient attacks healthcare worker: arrested

A healthcare worker was grabbed by the neck by a patient in Trieste. The attack—the latest against medical staff in the region—occurred this morning inside the former San Giovanni Psychiatric Hospital. The patient, clearly in a state of distress, was denied treatment by the Asugi employee. This decision triggered a violent reaction from the man, who, out of control, grabbed a healthcare worker by the neck.

The Carabinieri of the Radiomobile of the Julian capital intervened immediately, immobilizing the attacker and proceeding to his arrest.

The assaulted healthcare worker received first aid on the scene and was then transported to the Cattinara Emergency Room for checks, where he was found to have minor injuries.
