Roland Garros, towards the draw: where to watch it and what to know about Sinner's path

(Adnkronos) – Roland Garros is ready to put on a show. Today, Thursday 22 May, the calendar of the Parisian Slam will be defined and the French tournament will take shape. Great anticipation, obviously, for the return to the court of the Italians Jannik Sinner and Lorenzo Musetti, ready to attack the throne of Carlos Alcaraz after the excellent path at the Internazionali d'Italia. Here's where to watch the draw and what to know.

The Roland Garros draw will take place today, Thursday, May 22. The ceremony will be visible, for subscribers, on Discovery +, but will also be available on the tournament's YouTube channel.

And Sinner? After returning to the field with a lost final at the Internationals, the Italian will fly to Paris to improve on last year's semifinal against Alcaraz. Twelve months ago, Jannik stopped in the penultimate act of the tournament against the Spaniard, who then won under the Eiffel Tower.

The certainty is that the Italian champion, number 1 in the ranking and therefore in the draw, will have two approachable opponents in the first two rounds, not seeded. From the third round, Sinner will instead be able to face an opponent from the 25th to the 32nd seed: among these are Berrettini, Auger-Aliassime, Hurkacz, Shapovalov, Popyrin, Davidovich Fokina, Nakashima, Mpetshi, Perricard.

In the round of 16, looking at the top of the rankings, Sinner could instead face one of Shelton, Fils, Tiafoe and Dimitrov, while in the quarterfinals there would be a possibility of a match with Djokovic, Ruud, Draper and Musetti. In the semifinals, for Jannik there could be a challenge with Zverev or Fritz, while in the final the projection could be with the number 2 of the ranking Carlos Alcaraz, on the other side of the draw.
