Sky launches new Sports, News and Entertainment division

Giuseppe De Bellis leads all content
Sky Italia announces the creation of a new Management Group that will bring together all its content offerings—both pay and free—under a single strategic leadership . Giuseppe De Bellis will lead the new Management Group as Executive Vice President of Sport, News and Entertainment.
Starting at the end of July, Sky Sport , Sky Tg24 , and all content activities—from major original entertainment productions to films, TV series, documentaries, and free-to-air channels—will be merged into this new structure. This strategic choice, a statement explains, is designed to further enhance the richness and quality of Sky's offering through an integrated and cross-cutting vision, capable of seizing new creative and production opportunities, and strongly oriented towards innovation .
The goal is to unlock the potential of the various editorial areas by promoting a collaborative approach and cross-fertilization between content, talent, and platforms. This approach will allow Sky to respond increasingly effectively and immediately to audience expectations, leveraging the strength of its editorial, creative, and production teams, its passion for telling stories with quality, energy, and authority, and its ability to innovate languages and formats.
This new organization represents a strategic evolution for Sky: integrated management of content, production, and distribution, driven by a cross-functional, dynamic, and innovation-oriented approach, aiming to offer audiences an increasingly rich, engaging, and high-quality experience.
De Bellis, who joined Sky in 2018, first as deputy editor of Sky Sport and then the following year as editor of Sky Tg24, has gained significant experience and expertise throughout his career, both editorially—in the world of 360-degree content, with a particular focus on new languages and digital—and in management. Under his direction, Sky Tg24 has stood out for its priority on major international issues, its data-driven approach to reporting, using data to explain news and social, economic, and political phenomena. It has also driven the digital transformation of the newsroom, strengthening its web and social media offerings, developing documentary-style storytelling series, such as docuseries and podcasts, and creating Sky Tg24 Insider, the in-depth news section of the Sky Tg24 website dedicated to subscribers.
